Online Seminar – Understanding Integral Agroecology: Theology and Indigenous Wisdom as Practice

26 March 2026, 1:30-3:00pm GMT
Online Seminar

How does faith shape the way we tend the land, and the communities that depend on it?

This second session of Down to Earth Dialogues, hosted by Sr Mūmbi Kīgūtha, brings into conversation Indigenous wisdom and academic theology in the field of integral agroecology.

The session will open with a wisdom dialogue between Dr Matthew Whelan (theologian of agroecology), Daniela Alba (Mhuysqa territory, Colombia), and María Candelaria Rodríguez Hernández from the Yomol A’tel cooperatives in Chiapas. Together, they will explore how spiritual traditions, lived Indigenous knowledge, and Catholic social thought converge in practices that restore soil, community, and dignity.

Participants from around the world are invited to bring their own experiences of where spiritual life and land-based practice meet.

The session includes a live Q&A and a short workshop.

Note: The online seminar will be in Spanish and English.
