Manifesto of the churches of the global south for our common home
Catholic leaders from the Global South have launched the "Manifesto for Our Common Home," a call for an international treaty to halt fossil fuel expansion.
The document, backed by bishops from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Oceania, outlines a Global Roadmap for a just energy transition. It demands that wealthy nations take historical responsibility by phasing out coal, oil, and gas first while financing clean energy for developing regions.
Aligned with the teachings of Laudato Si’, the manifesto highlights that the climate crisis is a moral emergency hitting the world’s most vulnerable hardest.
