In the years since Laudato si’, the Society of Jesus and her ministries have found novel ways to act on Pope Francis’ call to protect not just the environment, but the people who are most vulnerable to the environmental consequences of unsustainable business practices.

JENA has been invited to participate in the conference. JENA's participation in the conference is crucial. It is a contribution to addressing water-related challenges in Africa.

The West Zone of the South Asian Conference, comprising the four provinces of Bombay, Goa, Gujarat and Pune, successfully completed a three-day workshop on ‘West Zone Ecology Networks’.

On Thursday 9 March, the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice ran a climate workshop for people who work in the Jesuit Curia offices in Milltown Park. Drs Ciara Murphy (Environmental Policy Advocate) and Kevin Hargaden (Director and Social Theologian) led the process.

The Jesuit Province of Southern Africa, through the Jesuit Centre for Ecology and Development, has responded by mobilizing teams and resources to respond to this disaster.

On March 11 and 12, at the headquarters of the Instituto Educacional Amazônia Pará (IEAP), in Furo dos Chagas, in the Marajoara region between Amapá and Pará, another round of training took place in the Projeto Guardiões Ambientais Ribeirinhos, with the theme "Integral Ecology and Living Well" as the initial module.

Jesuit Justice and Ecology Network Africa (JENA) participated at the 3rd Edition of the West Africa Peasant’ Seed Fair held in the Dom Elder Camara farm located in Zoungbonou in the community of Houéyogbé, Benin Republic from 9th to 11th March 2023.

With funding from the European Climate Foundation, JESC is developing a potential campaign for the establishment of a permanent Representation of Future Generations (FGR) in the EU institutional framework.

“Sowing Hope for the Planet” is an initiative promoted by the UISG (the International Union of Superiors General) and associations connected with it, in order to make Laudato sí a reality: sharing ideas, formation, and synergetic action aimed at curing a sick planet.
