Whom does facial recognition recognize? Who gets recommended for a job by an AI hiring algorithm? How does bias shade the output of an image-generation model? Whose choices are reflected in all of the multifaceted decision-making that is part of generating and deploying AI models?

The Second National Summit on Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Management was convened by the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) in Lusaka on 24 June 2026 under the theme: “Strengthening Community Resilience Through Inclusive Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Environmental Management in Zambia.”

In response to the severe humanitarian crisis caused by the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June 2026, the Society of Jesus has activated a coordinated priority response. From 19 to 23 May, the European Jesuit Social Delegates Network gathered in Barcelona for its annual in-person meeting. Addressing today's environmental crisis requires educational institutions to embrace a transformative commitment. Inspired by the papal call and the framework of Integral Ecology, Jesuit universities are strengthening both their institutional practices and advocacy efforts while responding to the urgent challenge of fully integrating environmental education into their formal curricula.

Accompanying, protecting, and connecting: this is how the commitment of the Jesuit network in Latin America is moving forward. We share two important updates from the region: the recognition of Andean women in their crucial role as protectors of cultural memory and spirituality, and the preparations of the delegation that is already marching forward toward the XII Pan-Amazon Social Forum (FOSPA) in defense of the Amazon.

To understand and address the impacts of socio-environmental corruption in Latin America and the Caribbean, AUSJAL and the CPAL Social Centers Network have launched the extension course 'Environment and Corruption'.
