Second webinar: Group of Ecology Referents of the CPAL
The Ecology Referent Group of the Conference of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America and the Caribbean (CPAL) held a webinar in which he shared the details of the campaign: "Religious Life for Climate Justice: transforming Hope into Action."
The conversation was held on September 25, through Zoom, with the participation of more than 70 people from the Apostolic Corps of the Conference. There was a presentation by Daniela Alba, Incident Coordinator of the Secretariat for Social Justice and Ecology (SJES),and Luis Felipe Lacerda, executive secretary of the National Observatory of Socio-Environmental Justice Luciano Mendes de Almeida - OLMA.
In this space, the Secretariat of Social Justice and Ecology of the Society of Jesus (SJES) presented the campaign and explained to us how we can actively participate and be part of this call to action towards COP30. Likewise, the efforts of civil society towards COP 30 were presented. Struggles, resistance and hopeful actions.

In his closing statement on the UN June Climate Meetings (SB64), the Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC noted that, while important progress was made on the Just Transition Work Programme, the conference concluded without delivering the necessary advances on adaptation and mitigation.
The SB64 negotiations in Bonn concluded without reaching consensus on the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). According to a report published by the Climate Action Network (CAN), the group of developing countries, including the Africa Group of Nations, did not support the final draft decision due to the omission of a commitment to triple adaptation finance.
