Spain – The Society of Jesus presents its actions and initiatives for the Climate Summit (COP25)
The Society of Jesus in Spain is launching a series of actions and initiatives that will be carried out in the framework of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which starts in Madrid today, Monday 2 December, until Friday 13 December. A group of Jesuits and lay people from different organisations will participate in the official agenda of the event, both in institutional activities and in civil society spaces and religious movements in defence of the care of the planet. The University of Comillas, the EcoJesuit group, Entreculturas and Alboan are some of the Jesuit organisations that will be taking part in the summit, which is expected to attract more than 25,000 people from over 200 countries. The General Assembly is the highest governing body of the Federation of Fe y Alegria Movement. It comprises 22 member countries, the General Coordination, and the Presidents of the Conferences of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe.
