Towards COP31: Accompanying the UN Climate Negotiations in Bonn (SB64)

From 8 to 18 June, Bonn, Germany, brings together government representatives, civil society organisations, and international institutions for the annual UN June Climate Meetings, formally known as the 64th Session of the Subsidiary Bodies of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (SB64).

This gathering represents a crucial step in shaping the agenda for the upcoming climate summit (COP31), which will take place this November in Antalya, Türkiye, while advancing immediate action amid the escalating impacts of global warming.

In this context, and as part of the “Jesuits for Climate Justice” campaign, the Society of Jesus, through the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat, continues to accompany this process through advocacy, reflection, and prayer. For this reason, a Jesuit team is currently in Bonn, closely following the negotiations and sharing updates and key insights.
