New EU regulations on migration: a setback in human rights?

On March 11, the European Commission presented a new regulation that seeks to accelerate the expulsion of migrants to countries of origin or transit. This proposal is aligned with the border control and outsourcing approach promoted by the European Pact on Migration and Asylum (PEMA), approved in April 2024.
