Rome – Remembering with gratitude: The SJES published its 2023 annual review.

We have published our annual review for 2023. More than merely reporting activities, it gratefully reviews the orientations of the Jesuit social justice mission today, the journey towards a robust apostolic response and points of hope for coming years.

Following the 2021 and 2022 editions, we reported on activities from September 2022 to August 2023. In addition to a review of the Rome-based secretariat's significant actions, each social delegate of the six Jesuit Conferences and each coordinator of the four Ignatian Global Advocacy Networks (GIAN) reviewed how they lived the apostolic mission during the said period.

The first edition of 2021 focused on the Jesuit mission in the social apostolate. The second was a review based on the Universal Apostolic Preferences. In the 2023 edition, each article provides the specific context in which one works, the creative apostolic response given a particular context, and what inspires hope and the desire to commit to the Ignatian ideal, Magis. As in all previous editions, the PCCP (Project to Promote a Consistent Culture of Protection) also reported its accomplishments.

Despite the change in several team members, the dynamic in our mission remained unchanged: to walk with the One who sends us and to work with Him as "one body with many parts."

The digital version of the text is available in English, Spanish and French in the Documents section of our Resources tab.
