Two important milestones mark the path of the Church towards Cop 30 this Tuesday, July 1. The first of them is the presentation of the document “a call for climate justice and the common house: ecological conversion, transformation and resistance to false solutions” to Pope Leo XIV.

The bishops’ conferences and councils from Asia, Africa and Latin America (SECAM, CELAM and FABC) and the Pontifical Commission for Latin America publish a document calling for climate justice and ecological conversion in light of the UN climate change conference, COP30, which will take place in November in Brazil.

As the Jesuit Integral Ecology Assembly drew to a close in Chicago, delegates felt grateful, renewed, and hopeful. After four days of learning, prayer, and planning, they were asked to reflect on a final challenge: What is one thing that you can do right now that will help us grow this network of mutuality?

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the encyclical Laudato si: On Care for Our Common Home, a meaningful tree-planting campaign took root in Binh Phuoc Province, Vietnam, on 14 June. This initiative is part of the Environmental Priority 2025 Project under the Fourth Universal Apostolic Preference of the Society of Jesus. It aims to promote environmental protection and cultivate sustainable communities through planting perennial and fruit trees.
