COP of the Future

Türkiye has officially launched its vision for COP 31, introducing a landmark "new model of cooperation" with Australia. Announced by President-designate Murat Kurum, the 2026 summit aims to bridge global divides as climate impacts accelerate.

The Details

  • Host City: Antalya, Türkiye (9–20 November 2026).

  • Unique Leadership: Türkiye will host the summit and lead the Action Agenda, while Australia’s Chris Bowen will serve as the President of Negotiations.

  • Pacific Focus: To ensure inclusivity, Pre-COP events will be held in Fiji and Tuvalu in October 2026.

  • Priority Areas: The "COP of the Future" will focus on Zero Waste, clean energy transitions, food security, and strengthening climate finance.

This partnership, supported by the COP Troika (Azerbaijan, Brazil, and Türkiye), is designed to transform high-level commitments into "concrete and implementable" results for a safer global economy.
