Assembly of delegates and social secretaries LAC 2025
In Andahuaylillas, Peru, on February 24 and 25, 2025, the delegates and social secretaries of the Jesuit provinces of Latin America and the Caribbean met, with the participation of representatives from Central America, the Caribbean, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Argentina-Uruguay. The meeting, which was attended by authorities of the Society of Jesus and coordinators of the main social networks, aimed to strengthen the shared identity and mission, reflect on social challenges and promote network collaboration.
During the conference, the main social, political and environmental challenges facing the region were addressed, such as violence, corruption and climate change. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to faith, justice and reconciliation, renewing their option for the poorest and most vulnerable, and promoting new forms of collaboration to respond with hope to the realities of exclusion.

In his closing statement on the UN June Climate Meetings (SB64), the Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC noted that, while important progress was made on the Just Transition Work Programme, the conference concluded without delivering the necessary advances on adaptation and mitigation.
The SB64 negotiations in Bonn concluded without reaching consensus on the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). According to a report published by the Climate Action Network (CAN), the group of developing countries, including the Africa Group of Nations, did not support the final draft decision due to the omission of a commitment to triple adaptation finance.
