Latin America – Fr. Rodolfo Cardenal: “Rutilio Grande’s legacy consists in resisting all sorts of injustice, slavery and oppression”
A week ago Pope Francis signed the decree which recognises Fr. Rutilio Grande S.J. and his lay companions Manuel Solórzano y Nelson Rutilio Lemus, killed in hatred of the faith, as martyrs. This is an important step ahead in the beatification process of these martyrs. Four decades have elapsed since Fr. Rutilio, together with his two companions, was killed on the road towards El Paisnal (El Salvador), but his legacy lives on. On top of dedicating his life to justice, faith and reconciliation of his people, he was a friend of the poor and outcasts and, above all, a loyal apostolic collaborator. Read more…

The first version of the Escuela de la Paz (Peace School) was held in Sucre City from 31 March to 2 April 2023 in the Azari retreat house. It aims to bring transformation in people through dialogue for constructive change of conflicts. Now, Sucre has its first Peace School.
