Institutional Response: Venezuela Earthquake Emergency 2026

In response to the severe humanitarian crisis caused by the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on 24 June 2026, the Society of Jesus has activated a coordinated priority response. Below, we share the official reports and support channels provided by the Jesuit Province of Venezuela to centralise the monitoring of response efforts on the ground.

One mission. One response. Many ways to help.

The earthquakes that have shaken Venezuela have caused a serious humanitarian emergency, affecting thousands of people and causing significant damage to homes, schools, health centers, and basic infrastructure. Many families have lost their homes, their livelihoods, and access to essential services, while search, damage assessment, and assistance efforts for the affected population continue.

In response to this emergency, the Society of Jesus in Venezuela has launched a single institutional response, bringing together the work of all its works, communities, and apostolic networks present in the country. Fe y Alegría, the Jesuit Refugee Service, the universities, schools, parishes, social centers, and the rest of the Province’s works coordinate under a single action plan, sharing information, resources, and priorities to assist the most affected communities.

The response includes both immediate humanitarian aid and the recovery and reconstruction processes that will be necessary over the coming months, with special attention to people and communities in situations of greater vulnerability.

Response Programme: All international solidarity is being channelled to strengthen this common effort led by the Jesuit Province of Venezuela. Learn more about the response and the available support channels here: Venezuela Earthquake Emergency 2026.
