Padre Antonio Guasch Center for Paraguayan Studies (CEPAG)

The Padre Antonio Guasch Center for Paraguayan Studies (CEPAG) has the mission of promoting agroecological practices and principles as a way of life, as well as fostering social research, contributing to the Buen Vivir (well-living) of Paraguayan families and the care of our common home. Its vision is to establish itself as a leading organization, recognized for its work in research and the promotion of agroecology as a developmental alternative.

Throughout these eight months of management, I can affirm that it has been a deeply enriching journey, especially due to the experience of working closely with peasant families. This path has allowed me to understand—from their own realities—the importance of accompaniment, listening, and respect for local (ancestral) knowledge. I have had the opportunity to meet wonderful people who, through their work in the fields, make it possible for food to reach homes, and who sustain life in their communities with effort and dignity.

One of the most significant lessons this experience has left me with is that true change is born from human and fraternal encounters, rooted in trust and shared work. Hearing the life stories of those who have positively transformed their reality thanks to CEPAG’s accompaniment fills me with joy and reaffirms the purpose of our apostolic mission in contexts that cry out for justice and truth.

This experience invites a reflection that transcends contexts of conflict, inequality, and challenges, moving toward paths of commitment and solidarity. It offers a hopeful vision that it is possible to restore ecosystems in God’s way, collaborating with others for the Buen Vivir of all humanity. With a vocation for service, we recognize ourselves as instruments at the service of a just cause.
