Togo – Christmas Celebration with Orphans and other Vulnerable Children
In response to the second Universal Apostolic Preference of the Society of Jesus: "To walk with the poor and the excluded", in relation to the health crisis of Covid-19 and the social problems related to the nutrition of children from poor and marginalized families, the Outreach of Les Centres Sociaux Loyola de Lomé in September 2021 reached out to the Orphans and Vulnerable Children in terms of schooling, nutrition and medicine. Thanks to the "KOLPING WOFFENBACH" family from Germany, through the "Action d'Aide pour le Togo" project, this was made possible.
This festive period presents us with another opportunity to gather the children to share with them their experiences of this first period of study, to encourage them to persevere, and to celebrate together the birth of Jesus Christ who brings joy, peace and justice to our world tormented by the health and social crisis.
Moreover, despite their difficult realities, Les Centres Sociaux Loyola believes that these children are capable of contributing to the care of our common home. Thus, during this Christmas celebration with Orphans and other Vulnerable Children, scheduled for December 23rd, Les Centres Sociaux Loyola intends to share with these marginalized children good ecological practices that will make their Christmas an 'Ecological Christmas'.
