Latin America – Join the Laudato Si’ Platform!
The Laudato Si’ Action Platform wishes to encourage the commitment of families, institutions and congregations to achieve the Laudato Si' Goals for the benefit of the planet.
Many people and institutions are increasingly aware of the great need to act in favour of the planet's ecology, and the Vatican's Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development saw the need to join efforts worldwide to create concrete actions to curb the ecological crisis, through the Laudato Si' Platform for Action.
Therefore, families, parishes or dioceses, educational institutions, hospitals or health institutions, groups (NGOs, lay movements, etc.), economic entities (farms, cooperatives, businesses), religious orders, provinces or communities are invited to visit the Platform, learn about its resources and sign up, and thus develop Action Plans to achieve the Laudato Si' Goals:
- Response to the Cry of the Earth
- Responding to the cry of the poor
- Ecological Economy
- Adopting sustainable lifestyles
- Green education
- Ecological spirituality
- Community engagement and participatory action
Currently there are already about 200 associated organizations, including the Conference of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America and the Caribbean - CPAL, which encourages and invites Jesuit networks and provinces to join in this commitment to action, with the help of the Laudato Si' Planning Guidelines, which can be found on the web.
Registration to join the Platform is open until November 14, the World Day of Prayer for the Poor.
All efforts are greatly appreciated. Participants are encouraged to move towards the Laudato Si' Goals in no more than seven years.
Visit the website and join all the organizations that are already committed and seeking impactful actions for an integral Ecology.
