Great Britain – Want to host a refugee in your home?
One of the greatest challenges faced by the refugees accompanied by Jesuit Refugee Service UK is lack of accommodation.
Unable to rent property, destitute refugees must rely on friends or family to take them in, or else spend the night on public transport or sleeping on the streets. The JRS UK ‘At Home’ hosting scheme organises short-term placements for refugees, providing a small amount of stability at an otherwise uncertain time.
As the weather gets colder, the need for safe accommodation becomes even more desperate.

On Thursday 7th October, JRS UK will be holding an evening for those who want to learn more about the ‘At Home’ hosting scheme.
The event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the project, for anybody to ask any questions they may have about hosting, and to hear from an experienced host who has welcomed several guests through ‘At Home’.

On Wednesday, April 10, the European Parliament voted on the European Pact on Asylum and Migration. JRS Europe directors jointly opposed the pact and urged European institutions to reject it: "We cannot support a system that will allow the systematic detention of thousands of people, including children, at the EU external borders."
