Global – Opening Up to Interculturality
The Migrants and Refugees Section of the Vatican's Dicastery for Integral Human Development has made available to all Church actors and other interested parties a guide with pastoral orientations on how to approach the intercultural reality of the populations with whom we share the journey.
In the words of Pope Francis, this document "gathers together proposals relevant to the field of intercultural pastoral ministry and concretely translates my invitation suggested in the Encyclical Fratelli tutti to develop a culture of encounter".
This guide connects with a Church that wants to be on the way, always going out and where being radically inclusive must orient our way of being and proceeding. To lose fear and open ourselves to the other, to the other, to the migrant, the refugee, the foreigner. To understand ourselves as brothers and sisters, to take care of the rights and protection of each and every one because they are the rights and protection of all.
The guide presents orientations that help us to materialize that of working together, of dreaming together, recognizing in our diversity a shared humanity. From RJM we are grateful for this contribution that connects in a direct way with the proposals of Hospitality.
The document is accompanied by a guide of good practices of intercultural work in which we also recognize various experiences and initiatives linked to the Society of Jesus around the world and other very enriching experiences of the different families that are part of this single body.
