Global – UN Assembly and Summits on Global Issues
On September 16, the General Assembly of the UN met to discuss issues of global concern. In the following weeks, several summits like the Climate Action Summit on September 23, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on September 24 and 25, and the High Level dialogue on Financing for development, among others, took place. There were several calls for mobilization by civil society organizations and platforms from Sept. 20 to 27, particularly the Global Action Climate strike. Jesuit organizations followed these Summits, since Jesuit/Ignatian delegation was already present in the High Level Political Forum on SDGs (read “ Final external report ”), coordinated by SJES. “More ambitious and urgent action is needed and should be supported by concerted action and commitment that is aligned by the motto “leaving no one behind”.

The General Assembly is the highest governing body of the Federation of Fe y Alegria Movement. It comprises 22 member countries, the General Coordination, and the Presidents of the Conferences of Jesuit Provincials of Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe. To enrich the Movement's sustainability, the General Assembly provided input and recommendations to the executive team.

On 18 October 2023, Fe y Alegría in Ecuador held the opening event to mark 60 years of service to education. More than 700 people from different parts of the country gathered to commemorate the important date.
