GIANSJ.ORG The New Website of the Global Ignatian Advocacy Network
Rome (July 2026) — In an effort to strengthen global collaboration and advocacy across regions, the Global Ignatian Advocacy Network (GIAN) is proud to launch its new official website: giansj.org. This launch marks the strategic integration of Ecojesuit.com (Integral Ecology) and JusticeinMining.org (Justice in Mining), which will no longer publish independently. The aim is to build a single, dynamic digital presence dedicated to serving communities and advancing integral ecology. Over time, GIAN's Right to Education and Forced Migration initiatives will also become part of this shared platform.
What is the Purpose of giansj.org?
Unlike the Secretariat's website (www.sjesjesuits.global), which serves as the institutional and pastoral platform communicating who we are, the new GIAN website is an operational hub for advocacy and resource sharing of the network, designed to communicate what we are doing at the local, regional, and global levels—and how others can become involved.
Its strategic purpose is to activate awareness on the ground, foster cross-sector collaboration, and break down information silos. Built around an umbrella architecture, the platform brings together GIAN's four global thematic initiatives within a single timeline:
- Integral Ecology
- Justice in Mining
- Right to Education
- Forced Migration
Here, traditional articles evolve into advocacy capsules and dynamic visual stories that support mobilization, strengthen campaigns, promote petitions, and provide downloadable resources for activists and communities.
How are We Managing this Transition?
What will happen to the Ecojesuit and Justice in Mining websites?
Both websites will stop publishing new content but will remain online over the coming months as historical repositories. This will ensure that the extensive archive of articles and resources developed over the years remains available for consultation and research before the sites are eventually retired.
What Will Happen to our Social Media Channels?
The new GIAN website will not establish its own social media accounts. Instead, its digital presence will be coordinated through the official social media channels of the Social Justice and Ecology Secretariat in Rome (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn: @sjesrome).
At the same time, Ecojesuit's existing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X: @ecojesuit) will remain fully active and continue serving as spaces for community engagement.
