Europe – The “narrow gate” towards the future. Thinking together after the lockdown

There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic is an epochal shock, of those that happen once in a generation. They are both personal and collective historical passages in which the everyday normality – of both thought and action – enters into a sort of suspension, while the horizon tightens up to the point of making us doubt that there is no longer a future. Then gradually you begin to see an unsuspected passage that may be narrow and tortuous. When the horizon opens up again, the impression is that of being in a new world, in which what was previously not even conceived as possible it actually is, but where the temptation of nostalgia and the drive to try to go back without changing anything are always lurking.
