Latin America – Atlas of Conflicts in the Amazon: Story of abuse, suffering and death

The Pastoral Commission for Land (CPT) together with the REPAM-Brazil presented the Atlas of Conflicts in the Amazon on September 28 in Brasilia. The publication recounts the abuses, sufferings and murders of the Amazonian peoples in recent months, a reality that also affects the environment, our Common House. Many imagine Amazon as an ecological paradise, but in reality, it is a region “marked historically from the process of colonial occupation along with different forms of violence, practiced both against their native population and robbing of their natural resources, always in favour of the countries that dominated it”, the CPT emphasizes in its introduction.
