For decades, the Society of Jesus has been accompanying communities around the world that have been adversely affected by mining activity. In this issue, we include ten articles from the different Conferences. The articles describe some of the situations that result from mining activity, including the conflicts and suffering experienced by the local populations and the damage done to the environment.
