The Dominican Republic is one of the countries with the lowest index of investment in education in the whole of Latin America. The Jesuits in the Dominican Republic have joined an international campaign to raise investment in education from 1.8% to the 4% foreseen by the constitution. Jesuit institutions and Christian Life Communities worldwide, in a concerted effort on 4 October, delivered letters to the ambassadors of the Dominican Republic in their countries.
