On Sunday 30, IJND, the International Jesuit Network for Development, organised a Workshop on Governance, Democracy, and Participation. It was attended by 35 persons. It started with a presentation by Miguel Gonzalez on the meaning of ?governance? and how we can direct it towards democracy. Later we listened to three experiences of popular struggles in favour of greater participation from India, Venezuela and Zimbabwe. The participants raised some questions or spoke about their own experiences. The workshop lasted the three hours and they went very quickly.
