?Prevention is NOT always better than cure,? read a placard hanging from the neck of a young Jesuit who, in the company of hundreds of thousands, marched on the 15 February through the streets of Rome in favour of peace and against the doctrine of preventive war, perceived as a prelude to an attack against Iraq. Behind the banner carried by the Centro Astalli/JRS Italy and the Missionary Students? League, many Jesuits participated in the march among an incredibly large crowd. The march of Rome was one of the most impressive, but just one among the 600 demonstrations that gathered more than 100 million people in many cities of the world.
